Our Team
Our professionals have extensive experience in aircraft investing, having served as key executives with aircraft and engine operating lessors, investment bankers, traders, lenders, and attorneys. Many members of the WNG Capital team worked together at Deutsche Bank.
The investment team works closely to identify and understand all risks associated with an investment and develop an investment plan to minimize risk while creating opportunities to realize the full option value available in each investment.
Our History
WNG Capital ("WNG") was formed in 2009 by Michael Gangemi and Al Nigro, who currently serve as the firm's Managing Partners. Prior to forming WNG, the senior management team worked together at Deutsche Bank starting in 2003.
Founding Background
Mr. Gangemi and Mr. Nigro were founding members of the team that established and built Deutsche Bank's aircraft trading and portfolio financing business in 2003.
Mr. Gangemi
Managing Director and Head of the Special Situations Group (SSG), which included the aircraft trading and portfolio financing business.
Mr. Nigro
Director within SSG responsible for the development of the aviation business, including origination and remarketing of aircraft investments and portfolio financing activities.
Deutsche Bank Achievement (2003-2009)
The SSG team underwrote and distributed in excess of $4.5 billion of aircraft-backed portfolio financing while acquiring and trading 16 mid-life and older narrow-body aircraft as principal.
